Our Customer is a leading USA-based provider of rich virtualization, mobility and cloud networking services and equipment optimizing day-to-day operations of all-scale enterprises. For 30 years of existence, the company has grown an impressive 60 000+ pool of specialists, a 5 thousand of them are sales & marketing managers as well as sales representatives distributed throughout the world.

Addressing their needs, the Customer launched an internal website – a centralized knowledge point consolidating the company’s service documentation and reference data, events announcements, contact base and other sales supporting information in the single workplace. In a while, it turned out the portal was not instrumental because of unfriendly user interface and poor content structure, but still demanded continual investment. To fix the problem through UI redesign of the portal, the company approached Iflexion – a reliable web development company with long-term experience of front-end development.

Project Objectives

The Customer faced three major problems that disposed them towards the web site revamp with Iflexion’s help:

  • Lack of traffic. Designed for thousands of internal users, the portal was only visited 10-20 times a month
  • Non-compliance with the corporate brand standards. There was no look and feel of the brand
  • Too expensive support by a local hosting company.

Thanks to Iflexion’s extensive expertise of UX design, the Customer’s outdated and inefficient web site evolved to a state-of-the-art and easy-to-use portal. Our team restructured the content layout in line with the basic usability canons. Outlined, categorized and bulleted, the information got more readable and searchable.

Striving to adjust the solution to the corporate brand book, we updated the color scheme, modernized and supplemented graphic elements, relying on the current web design trends, s.a. minimalism, flat design etc. As a result, the portal got a clearer, crisper and more laconic look.

Satisfied with our contribution, the Customer engaged Iflexion for the ongoing support and maintenance of the portal. We suggested a cost-effective collaboration model, which turned out to be remarkably cheaper and more efficient than that of the previous vendor. Within the frame of support, Iflexion implemented a plug-in for instant presentation of the uploaded files and enhanced the access distribution module.

Development Process

Before the project started, our specialists had studied carefully the Customer’s legacy application – a WordPress-based solution developed with the use of PHP, MySQL, Linux and Apache technologies.

We managed to build strong relationship with the Customer, based on mutual understanding and trust. The Customer set clear goals for the project that were translated by Iflexion team into sound mockups practically without further corrections. Besides perfectly satisfied expectations from the first attempt, the Customer was impressed with the high level of professionalism and involvement of our team.
