One of the educational institutions residing in the USA required a software solution for delivering online educational services to students over the Internet. The legacy application they had was developed by local programmers several years ago and had a number of defects to be fixed and the whole application needed to be enhanced. After examining the existing application our experts found that its user interface was outdated, functionality was poor and the program was unable to server a large number of students. It was suggested, that the application should be reworked.
The solution is a web portal that enables users to create own or join existing communities. It provides access to educational services provided either by the Customer or by external partners. The portal includes user and administration modules. The first lets users subscribing to various services provided by the portal and the second provides capabilities for managing user accounts and groups. The two modules have options to create communities where users can communicate with each other, establish new connections, etc. The portal has an integrated email and payment system.
